- It is particularly fond of warm slopes, surface marls and limestone clays.
- The wines it produces are medium-bodied and more tannic than Poulsard.
- It is used in the blends of AOP Arbois, Côtes du Jura, Crémant du Jura, Macvin du Jura and DOC Porto in Portugal.
